Just says M4 carbine serial LE.. I've seen several posts on this & not sure what colt did during the transition. Can anyone shed light on this That's how they're making them now. They cancelled out the Sporter name since it's on the ban list in some states.

Therefore, they are still making all three, but they are just one now. I'm confused, I was told that LE will be for law enforcement and military and SP will be for commercial sales. So we won't see the serial numbers that start with LE XXXXXX on the commercial side. Ours would start with SP XXXXXX.

The Colts I am seeing at Walmart, and hence being sold on the commercial market, are the LE6920 model. The tag says so, the box says so, the serial number starts with LE, the company rollmark says Colt Defense instead of Colt manufacturing, and they are no longer stamped 'FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MILITARY USE ONLY' or whatever they used to say on the right side. I hope this is the case, so what's happening to all the modes that have a serial number starting with 'SP' And marked marked 'M4 Carbine'?
