Hi Pete, This particular machine was flagged up to me by BarneyBoy earlier on today. He owns an Alba 1A. This Invicta appears to be an 8 inch stroke model.and with regard to the actual box table and table support.apart from it being a bit smaller, it is to all intent and purposes the same as the Elliott 10M table. With regard to the Invicta company, I'm sure this was bought over by Elliott.who then produced both Invicta and Elliott Shapers for some time (some of which were obviously just badge engineered) before eventually dropping the Invicta name. Hi Adrian All I can say is that my 1M is definitely 10' stroke;-) The seller's description is a bit vague so I suspect he may not be the original user of the machine. The table cube is indeed about 200mm deep when it's rotated as in the picture. However, it you set it level you gain another 55mm where it hooks over the cross slide giving an overall depth of 10'. There is something odd happening with the clutch and gear levers on that machine (it's not like mine!) I think you're right about the Invicta-Elliott goings-on.

With regard to paint colour.If nobody on here comes forward with a colour match.if you look in yellow pages for your nearest paint mixer/stockist. If in doubt, go to your nearest car bodyshop and ask them who they use.

Then go to the paint stockist with a 'bit' of the machine that still has the original colour and they will be able to scan it and supply a match. Tell them if you are brushing or spraying and what it's for and they will sort you out. You said that the paint was 'terrible'.this usually means that someone has just lashed paint over the original finish.which usually means that with no preparation to the original finish.the 'terrible' top coat will scrape off quite easily with an old steel rule held flat.once you get the edge under a 'chipped part'.the top coat will tend to come off like snow. This is a paint removal 'technique' I have used quite a few times over the years, and have successfully 'stripped back' to original finish on an old Myford ML7 (which some lunatic had painted Lime Green).a Smart & Brown H5 Toggle Press (overpainted Rangers Blue) etc.etc. Suggest you 'attack' the removable panel / door / hatch at the side of the base unit first.
